Q1. Are all tours guided by an English-speaking guide?

A: Not all.
At Japan Local Journeys, some tours are guided by professional English-speaking guides, while others are operated as driver-only private transfers.

Our driver-only tours are designed for travelers who prefer privacy and flexibility — you’ll have a private car and driver, while our operation team provides real-time English assistance via WhatsApp.

Q2. What is a “driver-only private tour”?

A: A driver-only tour means your trip is operated with a licensed driver but no tour guide.
The driver focuses on safe transportation, while communication is supported in English via WhatsApp chat between you, the driver, and our operation team.

This type of tour does not include meals, admission tickets, or guiding inside attractions, giving you full flexibility to explore at your own pace.

Q3. Can the driver speak English?

A: Drivers are only with limited English; communication is mainly handled via WhatsApp text chat with our bilingual operation team.
You will always receive clear English instructions before the tour; and your tour operator is always to support your trip during the day.

Q4. Can I add an English-speaking guide to a driver-only tour?

A: Yes, for most driver-only tours, we also offer a guide & driver version. Please kindly check out the corresponding link for more details. We can also arrange a professional English-speaking guide or driver-guide for an additional cost upon request.

A: This option is ideal for travelers who prefer comfort and independence, such as families or repeat visitors.
You enjoy private transportation without needing to follow a fixed group schedule, while still having English support from our team when needed.

Q6. When will I receive reservation confirmation?

A: You may book tours scheduled for at least 3 days later. For reservation being made 5 days before departure, you will receive confirmation at the time of booking. For reservation being made within 5 days, your reservation will be confirmed as soon as possible, subject to availability.
